Rides

View your ride pages, control privacy, and edit details, photos, and notes.

This page explains what you can do on a ride page and how to edit your ride. It covers privacy, the map and stats, photos and notes, and the main actions available.

Viewing a ride

Open a ride and you’ll land on a clean layout: a header with title, date, and an optional hero photo, followed by an interactive map of your route. Key statistics sit alongside the map — distance, time, elevation, speed — with a distance chart below for a quick sense of effort across the route. Further down, photos bring the ride to life and the Notes section is where your story goes.

Private rides show a privacy banner to you (the owner). Public rides are visible to everyone.

Privacy and visibility

Every ride has its own visibility. By default, your profile is private and your rides stay with you unless you decide to share them. You can flip a ride between private and public from the action menu on the ride page, or while editing the ride. When a ride is private, a small banner reminds you it’s not visible to others. Learn more about defaults in Account & Privacy.

Edit a ride

Use the Edit option in the ride’s action menu to change details. The editor opens with a compact layout: Details for title, description, and privacy; Photos for adding or removing images; and Notes for long‑form text. Only the owner can edit.

Actions on a ride

The action menu on the ride page gathers everything in one place. You can toggle privacy, compare calculated stats with the originals before updating, download the original file, or delete the ride if you’re sure you won’t need it back.

Tips

Visibility isn’t final — you can change it later as your needs change. Public rides surface on your public profile and across community views, while private rides stay with you. If an automatic import looks off, open Compare & Update Stats to reconcile values, or upload the original file again from Base Camp.
